My favorite is the new light on how the FDS are NOT appointed yet....so for 90+ years theyve been teaching something false. Make sure you ask before hand "Brother yoyo, if something isnt true then what is it?" Chances are theyll say false.....then hammer them with how they arent appointed and the organized book says this is one reason why we can trust them...and the fact that they are presumptukus enough to say that Jesus WIlL appoint them.....subverting the big man once again.

feel free to find better arguments ;-).

Humans used a hearth for fire and cooking 300,000 years ago!

summary:.
when did humans really begin to control fire and use it for their daily needs?

Honestly they WANT it to be true....in fact the topic of evolution bores and scares them because to them (me at times) its not nearly as attractive or cool as what heaven or the "new system" will be like. Imagination outweighs reality because theyve learned to be cynical toward The physical world.

Elder and i discussed beards, and got into rules and regulations
by Jon Preston induring a study the elder brought out that eating blood and omens are from the devil, and brought me to leviticus 19:26 (i think).. in verse 27 i says this:.
you must not shave the hair on the side of your head or disfigure the edges of your beard.. i said: "so why are we not allowed to have beards?".
elder: "thats a good question, cleric.

Precisely DD...it contradicts itself....not to mention is not logical at all. He even disagreed with the rule not to have beards, yet had to really twist things to obey the shepards....

During a study the elder brought out that eating blood and omens are from the devil, and brought me to Leviticus 19:26 (i think).
in verse 27 i says this:
“‘You must not shave the hair on the side of your head or disfigure the edges of your beard.
I said: "So why are we not allowed to have beards?"
elder: "Thats a good question, Cleric. I feel the same as u sometimes. In fact when something controversial comes up in the elders meeting i usually say 'im gonnna grow a beard then!' Lol. But think about this: If we allow beards whats the next thing we must do?"
Me: (knowing how legalistic they are)"You would come up with a list of rules and regukations about how it should be trimmed."
elder: correct.
me: but the bible doesnt say that...
elder: Well there are better hygiene techniques now than in the Bible and its really based on culture for what the brothers allow. But brother isnt it easier to say "if you have a beard u cant have priviledgs"? Or is it better to make a bunch more rules and regukations after allowing it? And think about this: Political people rarely have beards or mustaches...they want to appear clean. How much more so that Jehovahs peoe should.
Me: But Elder, whis world is this?
elder: satans.
Me: So why are we not allowing brithers to have beards based on Satans system and what he accepts with ones culture? And if we want to appear clean and pure why have Mustaches? To me mustaches are much more creepy and unclean looking than Beards. Not to mention our culture doesnt look at mistaches as attractive or "clean" it makes the individual appear more untrustworthy in many peoples opinions.
Elder: well we just dont want to further burden brothers by putting more rules and regulations on them.
after this he twisted and turned words to help me appreciate this loving areangement by Jehovah. I agreed to disagree but said i understand what he was saying.
But good Lord!!!! Really? Lol

Sunday School etc....
by quellycatface ini have never understood why the jw's did'nt have a sunday school or some kind of educational thing going for children.
it seems pretty selfish and antiquated.. i remember growing up, i was terrified of "satan" and "the demons".
not forgetting the "jehovah is watching you" crapola.. i think it's wrong letting young kids listen to fairly adult themed talks, items etc....it's got to affect them mentally.. any thoughts?.

I chatted with a bro last night about this and he said how happy he was that the kids dont have sunday school. He said when he grew up in the church he took sunday school classes and rarely learned Bible principles....he says Witnesses prepare their mids to pay attention and learn patience....

From wiki:
The Christadelphian community in Britain effectively dates from Thomas's first lecturing tour (May 1848 – October 1850). His message was particularly welcomed in Scotland, and Campbellite, Unitarian andAdventist friends separated to form groups of "Baptised Believers". Two thirds of ecclesias, and members, in Britain before 1864 were in Scotland. [ 8 ] [ 9 ] [ 10 ] In 1849, during his tour of Britain, he completed (a decade and a half before the name Christadelphian was conceived)Elpis Israel [ 11 ] in which he laid out his understanding of the main doctrines of the Bible.
Since his medium for bringing change was print and debate, it was natural for the origins of the Christadelphian body to be associated with books and journals, such as Thomas's Herald of the Kingdom.
In his desire to seek to establish Biblical truth and test out orthodox Christian beliefs through independent scriptural study he was not alone and, amongst other churches, he also had links with Adventistmovement and with Benjamin Wilson (who later set up the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith in the 1860s).
interesting correlation to the IBS.
